Plan your garden for fruit success

Want to know what your trees should look like at different times of year? New fruit growers are often not sure what they should be looking for, and become concerned about superficial damage to their trees, which is not always a cause for concern. That's why we wrote...

Choosing the right variety is exciting, but is often a challenge, whether you're a first-timer or an experienced gardener.

Growing fruit is incredibly risky, because one of the things we have no control over is the weather. Over the 20 years we've been orchardists it has affected us MANY times.

The reason we've managed to grow a crop of fruit every single year, no matter what Mother Nature throws at us, is because we have a system!

Key to the system is good planning, because there's a lot of risks you CAN anticipate and plan for, like drought, flood, drainage, frost, and pest and disease problems.

Diversity is key - at every level of your garden or farm including soil microbes, soil inputs, weeds, water sources and fruit varieties. And of course a healthy diverse garden also needs to include vegetables, herbs and animals.

We are currently updating the website to make it more user-friendly. Please bear with us and excuse the mess as we get it better organised!

Grow Great Fruit Program

We grow organically, and teach organic growing principles and methods. We’re aware of the changing climate, so the farming methods we use help to create solutions, not add to the problem. We've poured years of experience into our farm-tested Grow Great Fruit program after talking to hundreds of home growers, and figuring out what you need most...information, security, and someone you can trust to help you solve your problems.
