Nectarines With 325 trees, nectarines are one of our smaller crops. This number of trees has been doubled with new plantings of 150 trees in 2010, as part of a new mixed block. Nectarines, like peaches, are best ripened on the tree to allow their full flavour and fruit sugars to develop properly. Both yellow and white varieties reach their full potential when harvested correctly, and become sweet and deliciously juicy - best eaten in the bath! The flavour announces itself first with the heady nectarine perfume that says 'summer'.
